Story

Built from lived experience

Restaurant standards. A direct Give. A challenge big enough for the whole UK.

Where this started

Jefes Ramen comes from Stockport — and from founder Jerelle (Jefe) Okoro, who has experienced homelessness. That isn’t a slogan. It’s why the model is simple and direct.

When you buy a bowl, your purchase funds a matching meal for someone sleeping rough or facing hunger. Local support partners help us provide it, and it is not necessarily prepared or given on the same night — not photo ops, not layers of middlemen.

Alongside the ramen, community work has also included Jefes Barbers — another way of showing up locally.

What we are

A Community Interest Company running a Buy 1 Give 1 restaurant experience out of pub kitchens — starting in Stockport, designed for a national network.

Guests pay for good ramen. That purchase funds a matching meal. The Crowdfunder — 382k Reasons — is the mission layer that funds kit, capacity, and growth.

We work with local support partners carefully and only name them where the relationship is current.

How it feels

Most days, the people we pass don’t ask for much. A little dignity. A moment that tastes like care.

That’s why we make ramen — slow broth, fresh noodles, made with respect. Every bowl you enjoy funds another served hot to someone who’s been unseen. Quietly bringing people together.

The brand look is deliberate: franchise-ready, not scrappy. We’re on the brink of multi-site — and the experience should already feel that way.

Where we’re heading

More nights. More cities. More matching meals — through 382k Reasons and a kitchen network that keeps the same standards wherever it lands.
