For a while Birmingham was a maybe. A "we're talking", a "watch this space". I don't like putting things out until they're real.
It's real now. We're coming to the Jewellery Quarter.
Birmingham, confirmed
Jefes Ramen at Temper and Brown, Thursday 26 November. Locked in.
If you've not come across us: we're a Stockport community interest company that takes ramen into pubs and bars. Big bowls, a busy room, and every bowl you buy funds a matching meal for someone experiencing homelessness. We've done it at home in Stockport, and this winter we're taking it round the country. Birmingham is one of the stops.
So if you're looking for Jewellery Quarter food events in November, put this one in.
Temper and Brown, 12-13 Albion Street, B1 3ED
Temper and Brown, 12-13 Albion Street, Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham B1 3ED.
Temper and Brown said yes to having us in for the night. We take the kitchen, they keep the bar running, and they keep 100% of it. That's how every Jefes Ramen night works. We're not there to take from the venue. We're there to fill it.

Thursday 26 November, 6pm till 10pm: what's on the night
Thursday 26 November, 6pm till 10pm.
What's on is simple. Ramen. Proper portions. A drink from the bar if you want one. People you came with and probably a few you didn't. It's a night out with a reason behind it, not a gala dinner.
Thursday's a good shout too. It's the start of the weekend without the Saturday crowds, and you're home at a sensible time.
Buy 1 Give 1: your bowl funds a matching meal
Here's the bit that matters to me.
I've been hungry with nowhere to go. That's not a line for the website, it's why Jefes Ramen exists. So the model is straight: you buy a bowl, and that funds a matching meal for someone experiencing homelessness. One for you, one given.
I won't dress it up with numbers for a city we haven't cooked in yet. I'll just tell you how it works, and if you want more, it's all in what is Buy 1 Give 1.
Want to be part of the night rather than just eat at it? Volunteer with us. Birmingham hands very welcome. And if you've got a pub or bar in the city, here's how hosting works: the first two nights are a free trial, then it's £48 a night, and you keep 100% of the bar.
Book before presale closes Thursday 19 November
Presale on Eventbrite closes Thursday 19 November, a week before the night. Booking ahead tells us how many bowls to make, so nobody turns up to an empty pot.
Book your Birmingham bowl on Eventbrite
The tour, Birmingham included, is backed by 382k Reasons, our Crowdfunder, which closes Tuesday 27 October. If you can chip in before then, here's the page. If not, come and eat. That's backing it too.
See you on Albion Street.
